Warehouse demolition and rubble removal in Archidona

Warehouse demolition in Archidona is mostly about buildings on the edge of town and in the countryside: storage halls, workshops and rural buildings, well away from the protected historic centre.

In short

We demolish warehouses, rural and industrial buildings and concrete in Archidona and the rest of the Nororma comarca, sorting the rubble and taking it to authorised facilities. The town's historic centre is protected, so a demolition there needs a licence and, where applicable, heritage authorisation. Outside it, your técnico confirms with the ayuntamiento which procedure applies.

Archidona and the Nororma comarca: where the work is

Archidona is the centre of the Comarca Nororiental de Málaga (Nororma), which groups seven municipalities: Archidona, Cuevas Bajas, Cuevas de San Marcos, Villanueva de Algaidas, Villanueva de Tapia, Villanueva del Rosario and Villanueva del Trabuco. The comarca borders the province of Granada to the east and Córdoba to the north, at the far end of the province from the coast.

The industrial demolition we are asked about here is rarely in the town itself. It is a storage hall on the outskirts, a workshop that has closed, a rural building with a concrete yard or an old outbuilding on a farm. These are handled under our warehouse and industrial demolition service.

Working on a hillside town at the edge of the Hoya

Archidona sits on the foothills of the Sierra de Gracia, at 666 m, on the eastern edge of the Hoya de Antequera. Plots on the slopes behave differently from those on the flat: platforms may be held up by retaining walls, yards are often built on fill, and a slab removed at the top of a slope can change how water drains towards whatever lies below.

Before breaking out a yard or a foundation on sloping ground, your técnico decides what stays, what is removed and how the plot is left. We then carry out the slab and foundation removal to that depth and leave the plot at a basic level. Retaining walls that hold up a neighbouring plot are only touched with the técnico's instructions.

The protected historic town

Archidona was declared a historic-artistic ensemble in 1980 for its Baroque urban and architectural heritage, and its historic centre is a Bien de Interés Cultural in the Conjunto Histórico category. In a protected historic ensemble a demolition needs a licence and, where applicable, authorisation from Patrimonio; confirm it with the ayuntamiento before anything else.

In practice that means the project comes first and the dates come later. If the building lies in or next to the protected area, we wait for the documentation your técnico obtains and then plan the method, often with more hand work and a smaller machine than an outlying site would need.

Rubble removal from rural plots

Distance shapes how rubble leaves a rural plot. Mixed loads are the most expensive to manage and the hardest to recycle, so on our sites concrete, brick, steel, timber and the rest are separated as the building comes down and each load carries one fraction to an authorised facility. You receive a delivery receipt for each load.

Our rubble removal and skips page explains when skips, rubble bags or direct lorry loading make sense. The town hall can require a fianza or guarantee for construction and demolition waste, returned once delivery to an authorised manager is proven; the amount depends on the municipal ordinance. For other demolition work in the rest of the province, see the Demoliciones Málaga areas page.

How a typical Archidona job runs

  1. You send photos, the location and a rough size of the building; we review access and the likely materials.
  2. Your técnico prepares the documentation and confirms with the ayuntamiento whether a declaración responsable or a licence applies.
  3. Any suspected asbestos is removed first by a RERA-registered company working as our subcontractor.
  4. Strip-out of light materials, then the structure by machine, with hand work where a neighbour or protected element is close.
  5. Slabs and foundations to the agreed depth, rubble loaded by fraction and delivered with receipts.

Dates are coordinated with your técnico, and if you are not in Spain we keep you informed with photos at each stage.

Services

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover the other Nororma villages, such as Villanueva del Trabuco or Cuevas de San Marcos?

Yes. The whole province of Málaga is our service area, including all seven Nororma municipalities.

Can you demolish a building inside Archidona's historic centre?

Only once the licence and, where applicable, heritage authorisation are in place. The method is then adapted to the narrow surroundings.

My yard sits on a slope above a neighbour's plot. Can you still remove it?

Yes, following your técnico's instructions on what stays and how the edge is secured. Retaining walls are not touched without them.

Is it worth sorting rubble on a remote rural plot?

Yes. The law requires it, and separate fractions are easier and usually cheaper to deliver to authorised facilities than mixed loads.

Do you remove old farm outbuildings along with the main building?

Yes, outbuildings, sheds and their slabs can be part of the same demolition scope.

Can I organise the work from abroad?

Yes. You can write to us in English, we coordinate dates with your técnico and send photo updates during the work.

What if suspected asbestos turns up during the work?

Work in that area stops, you and your técnico are informed, and a RERA-registered company assesses and removes it before work continues.

Can you demolish a warehouse with an uralita roof?

Yes. The asbestos cement roof is removed first by a RERA-registered company working as our subcontractor, and then we demolish the structure.

Do you remove foundations?

Yes, to the depth agreed with you and your técnico according to what the site will be used for.

Which VAT rate applies to demolition work?

Demolition is generally taxed at the standard 21 % VAT; certain renovation works on private homes may qualify for 10 % if the conditions of the VAT law are met. Each quote states the rate.
